A2 Bucket List: The Broken Egg

Confession: I’m not a breakfast person – in general, I just don’t enjoy it, and I find eggs, omelettes, hash browns, bacon, and the like to be kind of “meh.” (Yes, you read that right: I do not like bacon. Insert shocked reaction here). However…certain restaurants make me rethink my position, and number 47 on my Ann Arbor Bucket List just might be one of them. Last weekend, I met up with friends at the Broken Egg for a very delicious breakfast.

Though I was tempted to order one of the many drool-worthy waffles/pancakes that were drenched in chocolate, caramel, sugar, etc., I opted for the “healthier” choice and had a Greek omelette. The quotation marks are merited here, though, because there was a ton of feta in this omelette. And, let’s be honest – that’s kind of why it was amazing. Here’s the bad boy before eating:

And after:

It was yummy, as were the hash browns. When you walk into the restaurant, Broken Egg looks a little rundown and tacky, but do not be fooled: the food is fantastic. Trust me.

17 down, 43 to go!

The rundown, hole-in-the-wall places usually serve the best food.

    Feta cheese and eggs—mmm. :-)

  2. I was never a breakfast person until I met my husband. he needs his breakfast foods. I’ve only found a few good places for breakfast here in AA, but we haven’t tried the Broken Egg yet. we always drive by it and say we’re going to try it but it hasn’t happened yet. so thanks for the post! we will definitely need to stop by now! :)
