I’ve been on a bit of a seafood kick lately, first with Legal Sea Foods in Boston, and now with Real Seafood right here in good old Ann Arbor. And as far as food kicks go, this one is treating me well.
After seeing the Hunger Games, I went to Real Seafood with my family. I’ll be honest with you: I really wanted to go to Palio, but it doesn’t open until 4pm on Sundays (what’s up with that?!) and we were going out for lunch. So, this was actually my second choice – but it turned out pretty nicely.
I had a salad to start, and then for my entree, swordfish with mango pineapple salsa. The salsa was the best part by far (not that the fish wasn’t good too). Seriously, mango pineapple = awesomeness.
For dessert, I had creme brulee. It was good, and also prompted me to this realization: I want to buy a little mini-blow torch and make my own. If I actually manage to do that without burning down my kitchen, you’ll be the first to know, dear blog universe.

Looking forward to hearing about how you (hopefully) didn’t burn down your kitchen but made delicious creme brulees instead.
Thanks! I hope it works
Creme brulee is a favorite dessert for me too. If you can’t get the blowtorch thing down (like me, since I can’t be trusted with flames) making custards comes close on the deliciousness rating.
Good call on the custards. I’m still hoping to give creme brulee a try, but like you, I too probably shouldn’t be trusted with flames
Mmm, Real Seafood is yum. We went there last month for my huz’s birthday and I had the delicious jambalaya (which also has swordfish in it!). I too am in favor of hearing about creme brulee torching at home
I almost ordered the jambalaya too – next time, I guess! And if I do some creme brulee torching, it will for sure be blogged
