Number 58 on my Ann Arbor Bucket List was to buy some chocolate at Schakolad. I needed a little something to go with a gift I was giving, so I figured I’d multitask (yes, this counts) and knock off a bucket list item while doing it. So I bought some to give away, and I bought a tiny box of 4 for myself.
The real reason I added Schakolad to my bucket list to begin with is because, during college, I volunteered at a charity wine and chocolate event catered by – you guessed it – Schakolad. I assumed that volunteering at said charity event entailed free wine and chocolate for the volunteers, but I guess that’s not quite what the organizers had in mind. I think I maybe had one small sample, and I always figured I’d go back someday and try some for real.
I got 4 flavors – Champagne, Grand Marnier, White Chocolate Cheesecake, and Sea Salt Caramel. The only ones that made an impression were the cheesecake (too rich, but good) and the sea salt caramel (because I’m obsessed with anything salted caramel). It was good, but I don’t think I’m really a gourmet chocolate person. Oh, well – now I don’t have to wonder about their chocolates anymore.
15 down, 45 to go!
