The Bean (er, the Cloud Gate)

For the last several years, it seems like every single time I visited Chicago, I inevitably ended up at the Bean (which, if you want to get technical about it, is called the Cloud Gate, but who would call it that?). I’m not sure what it is, but something about the gigantic mirrored structure just compels my friends and I to visit repeatedly, continually adding to our stock of Bean reflection pictures. It never gets old.

These photos are from my most recent foray to the Bean. Looking back at them, I have to say the thing that keeps striking me is how dirty the glass is. I don’t even want to think about all the tourists who have touched it. The second thing that strikes me is that my shoes are seriously pink. This second fact, I am far less disturbed by.

Awkward thumbs up for the Bean!:

The cutest kid ever:

My attempt at an artistic feet reflection shot:

Hurray for the Bean!:

Have you made the pilgrimage to the Bean yet? And if so, did you too feel compelled to take 7,548 reflection shots in front of it?
