I’m always chasing great views and, in New York, some of the very best ones can be found at One World Observatory. Located atop One World Trade Center (the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex), One World Observatory’s slogan is “See Forever” – and when you’re that high up, you almost feel like you can.
The entire experience is well-choreographed. Case in point: the elevator ride is so quick that it feels like it’s something out of a sci-fi movie. It also features a really neat trick: as you ascend, floor-to-ceiling LED screens simulate the evolution of the surrounding Manhattan skyline over the past 500 years.
Once at the top, there are great views from every angle. You can see the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and more. The space is sleek and modern and positively filled with natural light.
The Bottom Line: One World Observatory is touristy but worthwhile. Make sure to pre-book tickets online beforehand so you can breeze right by the lines when you arrive!
