During my stay in Imerovigli, Santorini, I was primarily focused on pure and simple relaxation. Yet when I learned that Imerovigli was within walking distance of the city of Fira, I knew I had to make the trip there at least once. And because this was Santorini, where everything feels tinged with magic, the views from my morning hike were pretty spectacular.
The path from Imerovigli to Fira is, for the most part, downhill and relatively easy. They say it takes about a half hour to make the walk but, if you are like me and want to photograph everything in your path, it might be more like an hour. Along the way, you’ll get gorgeous views of the water and the town of Fira. What’s the rush, anyway?
The Bottom Line: If you are staying in Imerovigli, you definitely need to make the jaunt to Fira at least once. It’s an easy enough walk, and if you don’t feel like walking back uphill on the return trip, it’s super easy – and relatively cheap – to grab a cab in Fira back to Imerovigli. It’s a beautiful little walk!
