The first time I visited Columbia Road Flower Market, I completely fell in love. An entire market dedicated only to flowers? I am so there. This time around, the market was no less charming.
Located in East London near Shoreditch, Columbia Market is open every single Sunday, year-round. I wasn’t sure what I might find, visiting as I was in the dead of winter (I was there in January), but I needn’t have worried. Even in cold weather, the market had plenty of plants and flowers to offer.
The best part of the market, hands down, are the vendors, who are basically a bunch of middle aged English dudes all shouting things to catch your attention. A few favorite soundbites this time around: “Cheap enough for the mother-in-law nobody likes!” and “Come on, we need the money!” Sold!
Though it might make me mildly majorly basic, I truly love the bright, colorful flowers filling this spot. On a Sunday in London, I consider a visit here nothing less than mandatory.
